Stay alert and stay safe! We worked with the Ontario Municipal Fire Prevention Officers Association (OMFPOA) to create a PSA about the new Ontario carbon monoxide rules. The OMFPOA co-ordinate efforts of its members in the fields of Fire Prevention, Fire Safety, Public Education, and Fire Protection, endeavouring to provide more efficient, effective, and uniform Fire Prevention Programs in Ontario.

Carbon monoxide requirements in Ontario have changed! Install working carbon monoxide alarms on every level of your home and outside sleeping areas today.

 

"Starting January 1, 2026, homes that contain a fuel-fired appliance, fireplace, attached garage or that receive heated air from a fuel-fired appliance located outside the home, such as in a utility shed, will be required to have CO alarms installed on every storey of the home, including storeys with and without sleeping areas."
